Crane Operator Classes Chandler - Crane operator training is for supervisors and operators of overhead lifting machinery. The course is suitable for both new and current operators. Course content includes applicable state, federal and provincial safety regulations. The first part of training comprises complete in-class lessons and examination. After that is a hands-on customized session with practical lessons and assessment.

Course content applies to all types and categories of overhead lifting machines. Particular instruction will concentrate on aspects of crane operation utilized at the trainee's workplace. Upon completion of the course, trainees would learn how to operate specific overhead lifting equipment, related parts and attachments efficiently and safely.

The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits which an operator might develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be avoided with proper habits. Training reduces the likelihood of a workplace injury or incident taking place.

The course would encompass about eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants are graded on their understanding of training material via written testing and an evaluation of their practical knowledge. The minimum acceptable score is 80 percent.

The in-class session, the trainee would know regarding causes of occurrences and damages, legislation and guidelines, danger awareness, internal responsibility, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, basic equipment and design principles, pre-shift equipment inspections, safe hoisting/operating methods, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, hitches and angles, operator/pedestrian safety, turning/flipping loads safely, hand signals for slingers and operators.

The customized practical training and evaluation session should be pre-scheduled. It will be held at the trainees' facility following completion of the in-class session. The duration of this practical training component is an hour or two. Two operators at a time would be trained by the instructor on skills like safe operation, planning the lift and right rigging practices.

Upon finishing the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee would write an exam. Signed safety rules will be required from every participant. Successful trainees will be provided with individual wallet certificates. The company would be given a framed wall certificate.
